When are Sex Therapy Intensives Contraindicated?

Sex Therapy Intensives are not recommended for every situation, nor are they a replacement for traditional psychotherapy. Sex Therapy Intensives are, in fact, contraindicated if any of the following factors are present:

• There is active alcoholism and/or substance abuse
• There is an active and ongoing affair, either known or secret
• There is an active threat of domestic violence in a relationship
• There is major mental illness, such as untreated bipolar disorder, major depression, and/or psychosis
